The Automotive Service Advisors Certificate opens many door and great earnings potential in the automotive repair industry and many related repair industries, too.
This program allows you to work with ASE-certified instructors who incorporate a wealth of real-world experience into the classroom and lab. Faculty members are dedicated to helping students reach their career goals. Our faculty members strive to make the learning experience practical and rewarding. The Automotive Technology program at Moraine Valley is designed to be completed in about one year.
This program prepares the student for a career as an Automotive Service Advisor. Automotive service advisors work in new and used automobile dealerships and large automobile repair facilities. They greet customers, listen to customer concerns or service requests, determine the type of service required, provide customers with repair estimates, help produce repair orders, notify customers when repairs have been completed and follow-up with customers to help ensure customer satisfaction.
Proficiency Credit (PC) allows students to earn college credit by demonstrating knowledge attained outside of the traditional college classroom setting.

To begin the process of converting certifications/non-credit training to college credit, please complete the following steps:
- Submit completed Proficiency Credit form along with certifications/non-credit training information to the Academic Outreach Department for evaluation.
