The Board of Trustees is responsible for annually evaluating the college president. They do so using the criteria in the attached document.
The president’s goals as approved by the Board of Trustees on April 15, 2025, are as follows:
- Continue to build community relationships with businesses, grow opportunities, revenues and increasingly seek new external funding
- Immediately improve workforce efforts through the Corporate, Community and Continuing Education Department; prioritize the development of external partnerships through the Job Resource Center to increase available internships and job placement opportunities for students. Establish measurable goals for engagement with local employers and industry leaders as well as placement in internships and jobs
- Work with board selected state lobbyist to further advance MVCC-specific board and college goals in Springfield
- Increase personal outreach and interactions with federal, state and local elected officials, employers, Capital Development Board and Chambers of Commerce to position the college as a regional leader in higher education and workforce development
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to the Board of Trustees related to action taken and necessary policy changes to stay in compliance with Federal U.S. Department of Education directives and U.S. Presidential Executive Orders
- Review past compensation study and continue with compensation study to review salaries
- Complete a Campus Facilities Assessment for the main campus, and Blue Island and Tinley Park locations
