Moraine Valley’s Digital Art and Design Program prepares students to enter the world of graphic arts in as little as two years.

Graphic designers influence how we view the world using colors, illustrations, photos and fonts. Through a combination of typography, visual arts and page layout, graphic designers are able to enhance user experience, brand products and create cohesive web pages, publications or advertising campaigns. The Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S) degree in Digital Art and Design emphasizes proficiency with tools and technologies in information technology industries related to the visual arts.

Students will learn to create, reproduce and distribute visual messages and collaborate in an environment with project team members and clients to organize and complete design solutions.

Explore different technologies and unlock the pathway to a career in digital art.

As a graphic designer, you will learn a variety of valuable and transferable technological skill sets that can be used in a number of job settings. Career opportunities for graphic designers include advertising agencies, design and television studios, publishing houses, corporate communication departments and more. Graphic designers also can work as freelance designers by starting their own businesses.

The Digital Art Design Degree (A.A.S.) Program at Moraine Valley is designed to be completed in about two years.

This program prepares students for a career as a graphic artist/designer in information technology industries related to the visual arts. Students obtain a solid theoretical foundation in traditional art and design, in addition to developing advanced skills in Mac hardware and Adobe software for quality computer graphics and design production.

Employment of graphic artists is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. Demand will be strong as producers of information, goods and services place even more emphasis on visual appeal in product design, advertising, marketing and media. Further, the demand for design for the web and mobile devices will spur employment of graphic artists.
