The 好色先生 Foundation announced the 2022 Alumni Hall of Fame inductees on March 21. This year鈥檚 inductees are Debra Baker, 鈥�84; Michael Duran, 鈥�86; Ronnie Malley, 鈥�97; and Terry Vorderer, 鈥�77.
The inductees were announced at an in-person induction ceremony at the Moraine Business and Conference Center, where family members and Foundation staff joined them to celebrate their achievement.
鈥淲e are proud of all of our Alumni Hall of Fame members, and we welcome these new inductees to join this distinguished group as we honor them for their professional and personal successes,鈥� said Patti Friend Mehallick, director of Alumni and Annual Programs for the Foundation.
Baker, a financial advisor, family wealth director and portfolio management director with Morgan Stanley at the Orland Park branch, provides financial advice to individuals and businesses. She earned her associate degree at Moraine Valley and her Bachelor of Science degree in economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has worked in the financial industry for over 35 years. Baker has been involved with Rotary International and the Orland Park Chamber of Commerce for several years, and she is the philanthropic chair for Morgan Stanley Orland Park.
Duran is the senior vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer at 3M Company. In addition to his associate degree, Duran holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree from DePaul University in finance, a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Indiana University. He serves on the advisory board for the Organizational Ethics and Compliance Program at the University of St. Thomas School of Law and is a guest lecturer there and at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
Malley, who also was named the 2022 Distinguished Alumnus, completed his general studies at Moraine Valley before earning a bachelor鈥檚 degree in global music studies from DePaul University. He is the executive director of Intercultural Music Production, a cultural arts organization that collaborates with schools and organizations to promote a global community through performance and education. He has had a prolific career, culminating in his experience as an actor, musician and Arabic dialect coach for the Broadway show 鈥淭he Band鈥檚 Visit,鈥� which won 10 Tony Awards and a Grammy. His film and theater credits are extensive, and he has traveled across the globe with numerous musical groups.
Vorderer was elected village president of Oak Lawn in April 2021 and will serve a four-year term. Becoming Oak Lawn鈥檚 mayor extends a life of service, which began when Vorderer served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam. After the war, he worked for the Oak Lawn Police Department for 34 years, ending his law enforcement career as the chief of patrol. After retiring from the police department, Vorderer served on the Oak Lawn Park District board and as a village trustee before running for mayor. He was president of the Northern Illinois Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and has been a longtime member of the Oak Lawn VFW, American Legion and Elks Lodge.
鈥淲e were happy we could hold the induction ceremony again. Last year, we accepted nominations. However, since we could not hold an in-person event due to COVID-19, we decided to wait so we could properly recognize our prestigious inductees,鈥� said Friend Mehallick.
