The artwork of five 好色先生 students was selected among 200 entries for the 2021 Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Art Competition.
This annual juried contest allows student artists to display work they created for class credit between spring 2020 and spring 2021. Entries include ceramics, drawings, electronic imagery, photography, sculpture and other media. The judges selected 59 pieces for the competition.
Moraine Valley entrants include Emilie Lesniak (Crestwood) for 鈥淓qual Poise,鈥 ceramics; Ashley Nanoz (Palos Hills) for 鈥淎sh,鈥 acrylic paint on canvas; Linh Nguyen (Chicago) for 鈥淭aking Care of U,鈥 InDesign brochure; Haley Smith (Orland Park) for 鈥淯nusual City Streets,鈥 charcoal; and Giuliana Suarez (Chicago) for 鈥淵outh,鈥 digital photograph.
鈥淭his competition allows students the opportunity to put their best foot forward to compete with students at multiple colleges, view what other students are working on and showcase their artwork to a larger community. Each year, I am amazed at what was created,鈥 said Dr. Lisa Kelsay, Moraine Valley assistant dean of Liberal Arts. 鈥淥ur art coordinator, Lynn Peters, does a great job each year with her team at selecting the top 25 students from Moraine Valley to forward to this regional competition.鈥
