好色先生 students studying in the Heating and Air Conditioning Program have more top-of-the-line units to learn on after receiving several pieces of equipment from Temperature Equipment Corporation (TEC).
TEC, the Midwest supplier of Carrier heating and air conditioning (HAC) equipment based in Lansing, donated high-efficiency furnaces and air conditioners to the college. Although the pricey machines are six years old, they are useable and beneficial. Plus, donations are uncommon in this field.
鈥淭his equipment will greatly enhance our HAC program by giving our students access to install and service the highest quality equipment available,鈥� said Steve Brasel, Moraine Valley department chair of Mechanical Technologies and HAC assistant professor. 鈥淚 had the honor of working at TEC for many years and know Skip Mungo [the owner and president] quite well. Words simply can鈥檛 express the fairness, honesty and integrity of the Mungo鈥檚 or TEC personnel in general. It is very much in their nature to do good things for their community and the HAC industry in general.鈥�
Students studying HAC work on machines in the lab their first semester. This simulation gives them the experience they鈥檒l encounter in the working world.
鈥淚f students don鈥檛 break things, they鈥檙e not learning. They work through problems and make mistakes in class so they don鈥檛 do it on your house. They鈥檙e going to experience different manufacturing equipment. The more exposed they are to that, the better they鈥檒l be in the field. It gives our students a competitive edge. So this donation is good, especially because it鈥檚 infrequent to get donations,鈥� said Joe Adeszko, program coordinator of Heating and Air Conditioning.
