Today’s hospitality industry offers a wealth of exciting jobs. Our program will prepare you for management positions in the hospitality industry with an emphasis on the restaurant and hotel sectors. You’ll gain knowledge to oversee management operations, including personnel, inventory control, accounting, menu planning, food preparation, marketing, layout and design, front desk procedures and catering. We combine classroom theory with hands-on industry experience.

Bring your passion in the kitchen into a Career in Hospitality
This program prepares students for entry-level positions in the hospitality industry, including the beverage area of restaurants, hotels and clubs.
With a certificate in Restaurant and Hotel Management, you can begin a career in hospitality supporting daily operations and guest services in a variety of settings.
You鈥檒l develop the skills to work in fast-paced environments, assist with customer service, coordinate operations and support management teams in restaurants, hotels and event-based businesses. This certificate is a strong starting point for those looking to enter the hospitality industry or grow into supervisory roles over time.
The Restaurant and Hotel Certificate Program at Moraine Valley is designed to be completed in about one year.
In addition to an associate degree in restaurant/hotel management or culinary arts from Moraine Valley, you can earn a National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation diploma for the foundation鈥檚 professional food service manager certificate program.

Moraine Valley鈥檚 Restaurant and Hotel Management Program prepares you for careers leading operations and delivering exceptional guest experiences across the hospitality industry. You鈥檒l gain skills in managing staff, coordinating daily operations, overseeing customer service and supporting business performance in fast-paced environments.

The college offers MCAP, a full-time apprenticeship program with a similar course structure as the college’s general automotive A.A.S. degree program. The difference with MCAP is that it focuses on course information and hands-on activities using Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep and Ram products and procedures. As a student, you’ll also work at an approved Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep and Ram dealer or Chrysler fleet location as an entry-level technician during the internship period. Students completing the A.A.S. degree with the MCAP option also will receive a certificate from the Chrysler Group.
