Find Support, & Build Connections

DREAM, which stands for Directing Results Through Educational and Academic Mentoring, pairs students with Moraine Valley faculty and staff mentors who provide guidance, encouragement and support throughout the college experience. Whether you’re exploring career options, adjusting to college life, building confidence or looking for academic support, DREAM can help you stay on track and connected.

Why Join DREAM?
  • Connect one-on-one with a dedicated faculty or staff mentor
  • Build relationships with other students in the program
  • Explore academic and career pathways
  • Learn about campus resources and support services
  • Develop leadership, communication and personal growth skills
  • Participate in campus events, workshops and engagement opportunities

Students are matched with a faculty or staff mentor and a small group of peers. This creates a supportive network where participants can share experiences, ask questions and learn from one another.
Mentors help students navigate college life, identify goals and connect with resources that support academic and personal success. Participants are encouraged to stay in regular contact with their mentor throughout the semester.

DREAM mentors are Moraine Valley faculty and staff members who volunteer to serve as guides, role models and advocates for students. Mentors provide encouragement, share insights and help students explore opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.

Through ongoing conversations and support, mentors help students build confidence, make informed decisions and create a successful path toward their educational and career goals.

DREAM offers opportunities for students to connect in a welcoming and supportive environment. Activities may include:

  • Group discussions and networking opportunities
  • Campus events and workshops
  • Explore academic and career pathways
  • Academic success programs
  • Leadership and professional development activities
  • Social and community-building experiences
