Registered health information technicians (RHITs) often specialize in coding diagnoses and procedures in patient records for reimbursement and research.
An A.A.S. in Health Information Technology prepares you for a career managing and analyzing patient health data in today鈥檚 digital health care environment.
Graduates are prepared to work in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, insurance companies and public health organizations, ensuring medical records are accurate, secure and compliant with health care regulations. Many registered health information technicians (RHITs) specialize in coding diagnoses and procedures for reimbursement, research and data analysis.
Through this program, you鈥檒l build skills in medical terminology, health data management and industry-standard coding systems such as ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS Level II, along with knowledge of health care operations and information systems.
Upon completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification exam through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to earn the RHIT credential.
After graduation from the Health Information Technology A.A.S. degree program, students are eligible to take the RHIT exam given by the American Health Information Management Association.
In addition, the student will be awarded a Medical Billing Certificate and a Coding Specialist Certificate.

The Health Information Management accreditor of 好色先生 is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College鈥檚 accreditation for the Associate degree in Health Information Management has been reaffirmed through 2030.
